The recent increase in interest in wellbeing has been unbroken, and the field of built-environment is no exception. Here, we focus in particular on green visibility, a quantified an correlation with amenity effect, to create tools for environmental design tool in the above-mentioned areas.

This research is a collaboration between Yasui Architects and HQllc. from 2021, with partial technical cooperation from POllc.

In recent years, interest in human wellbeing in buildings has been growing, and biophilic design, in particular, is considered to be a design method that will attract even more attention in the future. This study aims to establish a method for calculating and visualizing predicted green visibility and predicted amenity effects. Here, we look at the relationship between calculation time and accuracy on a 3D model of a building at the design stage, and calculate various threshold values in line with the intended use.

(2nd Report) Reproducibility of Models in Calculation of Green Visual Factor Using 3D Architectural Data @ AIJ Hokkaido 2022

In this second report, we have attempted to evaluate the effectiveness in design practice from the viewpoints of reliability of the results and computational burden, etc., by conducting the calculation of predicted green coverage using 3D architectural data with multiple 3D model reproductions based on scanning line crossing judgment.

第2報では、3次元建築データを用い、走査線の交差判定による予測緑視率算定を、複数の 3D モデル再現度で実施し、結果の信頼性や計算負荷等の観点で、設計実務上の有効性の評価を試みた。

Although scripts have been developed for the calculation of the green vision rate within the digital twin in the previous report, the accuracy of the tool cannot be determined without comparing it with the correct green vision rate. If the calculation can be automated from the subjective viewpoint and the accuracy of the tool can be guaranteed, it should be possible to have a deeper discussion on the validity of the accuracy of the CAD tool developed earlier.

 In this study, an attempt was made to create a tool for automatic green visibility calculation from a single viewpoint, and a platform for green visibility calculation was created by combining projection into L*a*b colour space, segmentation by AI and a thermographic camera. We also saw the possibility of improving the accuracy of green area discrimination. The following issues remain to be addressed: (1) automatic adjustment of threshold values for each method and their accuracy, (2) verification of the accuracy of operation under other environmental conditions, and (3) establishment of a method for detecting surface temperatures according to plant type and condition.

第3報, 自動緑視率算定ツールのスタディー

 本研究では、単視点の自動緑視率算定ツールを造ろうと試み、L*a*b色空間への射影、AIによるセグメンテーションと、サーモグラフィーカメラを併用し、緑視率算定のための、プラットフォームを作成した。また緑領域判別の精度を高められる可能性を見た。課題として①各手法の閾値の自動調整、およびその精度、②他環境条件での動作精度の検証、③植物の種類や、状態における表面温度のディテクトほうほうの確立 、などを残す。
